Wildlife Without the Drive: Navigating Your Way to the Forestry Farm

Experience Saskatchewan’s only accredited zoo—stress-free and car-free.

The Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo is a top-tier destination for families and nature lovers. However, for many, the thought of navigating weekend traffic or finding parking at this popular spot can be a deterrent. What if you could skip the parking lot and start your adventure the moment you leave your front door?

Download Transit Lines today for seamless, zero-input transit tracking.

Reaching the zoo requires a quick transfer at the University Terminal. Don't guess when your next bus is coming—use our Transit Lines app to track your connection in real-time.

Your Transit Route to the Zoo

While the zoo feels like a secluded oasis, it is well-connected to the city’s transit spine. Most riders will start their journey by heading to the University Terminal.

Step 1: Get to the University Hub

Catch Route 4 (City Centre/Evergreen) or any high-frequency route that services the University of Saskatchewan. This hub acts as your gateway to the east side attractions.

Step 2: The Zoo Connector

From the University Terminal, transfer to Route 27 (Silverspring). This route takes you directly toward the Forestry Farm area.

2026 Update: As of the March 2026 service changes, Route 27 now offers improved frequency, running every 40 minutes. This makes it easier than ever to plan a flexible day at the zoo without long wait times.

Experience the Wild: What to Do Once You Arrive

Once you step off the bus, you’re entering 123 acres of history and wildlife. Here are the top highlights for your visit:

Note: Most zoo attractions are accessible via paved paths, making it easy to navigate with strollers or mobility aids.
